The support came during a large thanksgiving event on Thursday at Kibuule’s home, where thousands of supporters gathered to celebrate his life after leaving Parliament and to thank God for his successful nomination. Attendees marked the occasion with dancing, food, and T-shirts bearing images of President Yoweri Museveni and Kibuule.

Sheikh Abasi Ssenkuba, the Mukono District Kadhi, described Kibuule as a “unifying factor” in the constituency.

“What he has done for the people is visible. Coming in big numbers is not enough; you must confirm your love for him by voting him back into leadership with overwhelming support,” he said, also praying for God’s protection over Kibuule throughout the campaign.

Mukono Diocese Bishop Enos Kagodo welcomed the unity shown at the gathering, describing it as a sign of divine favour. “It is great joy to converge here. With Jesus on your side, this journey is already a success,” he said.

Bishop Samuel Lwandasa, representing the Born-Again Faith, encouraged Kibuule by saying, “When God opens, no one can close. The door is open again for Kibuule.”

Sheikh Sazir Lumala, former Mukono District Khadhi and member of the Greater Mukono Inter-Religious Council, urged Kibuule to run an inclusive campaign appealing to all political sides.

“Use proper tactics to convince people across divides. We don’t expect fights; we thank you for conceding when you lost and for focusing positively on this new term,” he advised.

In response, Kibuule, the first candidate to be officially nominated at the Mukono District Electoral Commission offices, thanked the clerics and supporters for their prayers and encouragement.

“With God on our side, the journey to victory has begun. We shall continue serving our people faithfully and ensuring Mukono North gets the services it deserves,” he said.

He outlined industrialization, youth empowerment, and improved service delivery as his main priorities, while calling on residents to remain united as the campaign season begins.
